Employee engagement doesn’t depend on having a traditional intranet. It’s shaped by how people work together—through trust, autonomy, and clear, human communication. In this session, we’ll take a look at how one organization has managed to keep employees engaged and connected without a structured intranet platform. Instead, they rely on tools like Slack, informal chats, and consistent manager involvement. Guided by research on self-determination and job demands, this company has built a setup where people have the freedom to work independently while still feeling part of a team. From flexible schedules and quick virtual coffee breaks to project groups and casual digital spaces, these simple practices have improved collaboration, reduced screen fatigue, and helped people get more done. We’ll break down how a strong work environment can be built without complex platforms, how autonomy and trust affect motivation, and how everyday communication tools can actually strengthen team dynamics and help prevent burnout. You’ll leave with straightforward ideas to support long-term engagement in hybrid and remote teams. In this session, you will learn
I’ve spent over 15 years in HR, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that people are at the heart of everything. My work focuses on helping organizations and individuals grow—whether that’s through building stronger teams, developing leaders, or creating workplaces where people actually want to show up. I’ve worked across industries, and while the challenges change, the goal remains the same: to make work better for everyone.
I’m not about fancy jargon or one-size-fits-all solutions. I believe in keeping it real, listening first, and finding practical ways to solve problems. Whether I’m working with a new manager or a seasoned executive, I aim to bring clarity, empathy, and a bit of humor to the table.
Outside of work, I’m curious about almost everything—books, travel, and the occasional DIY project. I’m also a firm believer in the power of diversity and inclusion, not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it’s what makes teams and organizations truly great.
